How Can I Help

How I can help

Breastfeeding is perceived as the natural way to feed a baby.  Many women are surprised to find it doesn’t happen naturally.  We live in a society where we may not have been brought up with breastfeeding and we don’t see breastfeeding all around us.  When we run into difficulties we often don’t know where to turn, so many women turn to formula.  Almost 50% of UK mothers stop breastfeeding before their babies are 6 weeks old.  The majority of these stop earlier than they had intended.

Why is this?

The majority of women stop breastfeeding because they don’t have enough support or they don’t know where to get the support necessary to continue.

If you need help with breastfeeding Contact Me directly or through The Breastfeeding Cafe.

I can support you by phone, email, at a drop-in or a home visit may be possible.  I work with a mother-centred approach, always listening to what you want to do.  I help you explore what is happening and how best to resolve any problems.  I provide information for you to make a decision as to what might work best for you.

  • Positioning your baby so that baby can feed effectively and comfortably
